The Rockford Area Art Council will present ‘Propaganda’
ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – The Rockford Area Art Council will present “PROPOGANDA”, a group exhibition that is part of the council’s art and culture showcase.
On October 9 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and October 10 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., 317 Art Collective at 317 Market St. in downtown Rockford, the show will feature 25 local artists of origins and different cultures. The group of artists will each bring their own personal touch to the subject of propaganda.
“With the current volatile situation in America, politically, racially, environmentally and financially; With the pandemic and the hugely important upcoming elections, 317 Art Collective thought this would be the perfect time to investigate the subject of propaganda, ”according to RAAC. “Propaganda has been used by all countries, all causes and all political parties to try to influence opinion in specific directions. It was the original SAME. It comes in the form of posters, TV commercials, billboards, news articles and public art.
