Corey McKern featured in Salon Series Concert in Destin
On Saturday, January 30th, Pensacola Opera will present its next Salon Series Concert, featuring baritone Corey McKern. This intimate evening of entertainment will feature a program drawn from the operatic repertoire as well as greats from the American Songbook. The Salon Series brings Penscola Opera’s favorite nationally-recognized artists into some of the area’s most exclusive private homes for one-night-only concerts; each concert brings a new pairing of artist and location for a truly unique experience. This Salon Series concert is hosted by Joe and Judy Zito at their home in Destin.

BALLET PENSACOLA’S NUTCRACKER
Ballet Pensacola will enchant audiences with three performances of the brand new, full-length production of the Nutcracker at the newly renovated Saenger Theatre. Each performance will feature the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Peter Rubardt. MUSICAL HOLIDAY TRADITION BRINGS SEASON TO LIFE
Pensacola Symphony Orchestra (PSO) will once again join with the Pensacola Choral Society and The University of West Florida Singers to perform the holiday classic George Frideric Handel’s Messiah on December 5, at 7:30 pm at St. Paul Catholic Church.

Goombay Festival announces “A Taste of Goombay”
Organizers of the Goombay Gulf Coast Festival are thrilled to announce “A Taste of Goombay” for Saturday, November 14 beginning at 5 p.m. at Paradise Gardens, 508 W. Gregory Street, Downtown Pensacola. Tickets are $25 per person or $40 per couple.

Arts and Culture Information Center Opens on Gallery Night!
The Arts Council of Northwest Florida will present a sneak preview of the new Escambia County Arts and Culture Information Center on the final 2009 Gallery Night, November 20 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. in downtown Pensacola. Located on the corner of Palafox and Government Streets, the new Arts and Culture Information Center is located in the old Escambia County Courthouse and has just undergone a $1.12 million restoration and renovation. Along with more than forty-five merchant participants in three downtown districts, Gallery Night is Pensacola’s premiere family event. Tourists and locals will want to stroll through an eclectic array of merchants, galleries and cafes; enjoy the diverse and exceptional talent of painters, photographers, sculptors, musicians, and more. Admission is free.
